Supermoon

Last weekend we got to see an amazing Supermoon. We didn't get many good photos, but we found some great ones online.

This is a great shot of the moon over Brisbane. When we went outside to have a look at it, it was orange and looked so big!

A supermoon happens when the moon's orbit of earth is a little bit closer than normal. There's nothing actually different about the moon, the 'super' is just how much bigger it looks to us. It was really cool.

There are heaps more. My favourite is on this page (I also love the one in London and Mummy loves the one in Washington D.C) - of the moon over Arizona. Arizona is a good place to look at the stars and moon and planets. Because it is so open, and there are lots of places away from city lights, it's a great place to get a good view.

What makes you beautiful

Hello! Its Me! Do you like one direction? You wanna hear they're first song? Here it is! What makes you beautiful! Bye!

So excited!

Hey,

It's me again. I just wanted to tell you something exciting. This might blow you away. There's a talent show coming up at my school! I'm so excited!

I don't know the date yet but I know that my two best friends and I want to make a singing group. Riley wants to call it "The All Star Demons" but I want to come up with another name. Do you have any ideas?

We want to enter the talent show and we will get our Mums and Dads to video it. Maybe I'll be able to put it on the blog! We haven't decided what song to sing yet. But I like "Gotta be You" by One Direction (they're my favourite group). Do you have any ideas? What songs do you like that are popular at the moment?

I love One Direction. Mummy got me their album the other day and I haven't stopped listening to it. I already know the words to most of the songs.  I really like Harry and Zayn. Mummy only likes Liam.  She says he's the only one who can really sing out of all of them, though she says that Harry can sing ok as well. She doesn't like the others at all.  I don't understand her at all. I think they're all awesome.

My favourite books

Hey everyone,

Do you like books? I love them. I read so much and my bookshelf is like a library. I have hundreds of books! My Mum and Dad have hundreds too, they both love reading, and they taught me to read and to love books. They taught me to read before I even started school.

I have the entire series of Diary of a Wimpy Kid and they are so funny. I learned it's important to not just care about yourself. Greg has friends in the books, and his best friend is called Rowley and in the first book they break up. They broke up because Greg wasn't happy that Rowley's comic got chosen by the school newspaper. And then he was a bad friend to Rowley because Rowley got popular.  But at the end, he remembered that Rowley was his best friend and he stuck up for him at the end of the book and they were best friends again. (Even though Greg got the cheese touch!).

I learned that being popular isn't as important as being a good friend. I have all of the books in the series and have seen the first two movies. There is a new book (Book 7, which doesn't have a title yet) coming out in November. I can't WAIT!!!!  There is another movie coming out soon. It is called "Dog Days" (After the 4th book) and it comes out in AUGUST!!!!
